Calhoun Partners with NACPED for Career Fair

The North Alabama Connection Professional Employment Day (NACPED) will hold its annual CAREER FAIR February 22, 2012, from 12 noon until 4 p.m. at the Von Braun Center South Hall. The career fair is sponsored by Alabama A&M University, Athens State University, Calhoun Community College, Drake State Technical College, the University of North Alabama, and Wallace State Community College. Students from those schools are encouraged to attend, but the event is also open to the public. It is free, but there is a $5.00 parking fee for the VBC South Hall.

The Career Fair is designed to provide local businesses, industries, government agencies, and school systems with opportunities to interview a wide variety of potential candidates for openings in Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Arts, Education, Engineering, Computer Science, Allied Healthcare, and various technologies.

Employers scheduled to participate: Alabama Departments of Conservation, Corrections, Environmental Management, Human Resources, and Transportation; the American Cancer Society; Intergraph Corporation; RJ Young Company; Sherwin-Williams; Southern University Law Center; U.S. Coast Guard; Verizon Wireless; Wise Metals Group.

Missile Defense Career Development Program

Entry-level opportunities at MDA are offered through the Missile Defense Career Development Program (MDCDP), part of the new U.S. Government “Pathways” program.

This program offers new and recent college graduates, as well as those seeking entry into the exciting world of missile defense, a two-year, fully-paid developmental assignment that allows you to experience the variety of challenges being addressed on a daily basis within MDA. You will move to different MDA locations and travel to different sites and industry partners, in order to experience the full life cycle of missile defense.
