Intergraph Featured on ABC News
Video Analyst System a Weapon Against
Terrorism
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 25, 2005 –
Intergraph Corporation was recently
featured in an ABC News report on high-tech video as a weapon
against terrorism. The report by Jake Tapper aired on ABC’s “Good
Morning America” program July 15, a day after a surveillance video
image of one of the London bombings suspect was released.
In the report, ABC News included Intergraph’s
Video Analyst® System, one of the world’s leading forensic video and
enhancement technologies, to enhance and analyze critical video
imagery. Also included in the ABC News report was camcorder footage
of the 1996 Olympic Park bombing. The footage was analyzed using
technology incorporated into Video Analyst to determine the shoe
size of the bombing suspect. This evidence was later used against
Eric Rudolph, who has since confessed to the bombing. More footage
was shown highlighting Video Analyst’s ability to analyze and
enhance otherwise unusable video in the collection of evidence.
Video Analyst has been used in numerous other
high-profile cases. For example, in 2003, Intergraph analyzed
footage of then-Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein to determine if new
video featured a body double or if it proved Hussein had survived a
U.S. air strike the previous day. Intergraph experts determined –
with 99 percent certainty – that the new footage was of Hussein.
Hussein was captured nine months later.
“Intergraph is
at the forefront of public safety issues and homeland security
offerings that make the world a safer place. The fact that ABC News
approached Intergraph for information and input into this real-time
report further illustrates our high standing in the field,” said
Halsey Wise, Intergraph president and chief executive officer. “We

communities as we provide differentiated and leading technology

system integration to the local, state and federal levels,
Intergraph continues to lead the market by delivering a much needed

Intergraph
