Honolulu firm provides peacekeeping, disaster response training

Huntsville-based Camber Corp. has acquired Complex Solutions Inc. of Honolulu.

Camber provides management, engineering and training support for defense and commercial clients. Complex Solutions Inc., or CSI, provides training for peacekeeping, reconstruction and disaster response around the world.

The purchase price was not disclosed. Under terms of the agreement, CSI will remain a wholly owned subsidiary of Camber, said Joe Alexander, president of Camber. No employees are expected to be relocated as a result of the acquisition, he said.

Camber's and CSI's specialties complement one another, officials at both companies said.

"We believe our combined strengths constitute a depth of operational and technical experience absolutely vital to the security of our nation and the customers both Camber and CSI serve," Walter Batson, Camber's founder, chairman and CEO, said in a news release.

Founded in 1990, Camber is an employee-owned company with 1,400 workers, about 300 of those in Huntsville. It has more than 70 locations worldwide. The company reported $197 million in revenue for its budget year ended June 30.

CSI has about 30 employees, plus subcontractors and consultants worldwide.
