ADS acquires Condor, while Aerodyne bought by Virginia company Two local technology companies announced buyout deals Friday. Huntsville-based ADS LLC said it has purchased Condor Solutions Inc., a research and development company also based here. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. ADS spokeswoman Cindy O'Gorman said Condor's two employees, including CEO Alan Petroff, will join ADS. No other job changes are expected, she said. ADS, which has about 350 employees, develops technology-based products and services for the water, wastewater and hydroelectric industries. It's a subsidiary of Nova Technologies Corp. in Woburn, Mass. Subsidiary of Abraxas Abraxas Corp., a risk mitigation technology company based in McLean, Va., said it has agreed to acquire Huntsville's Aerodyne Inc. Purchase price wasn't disclosed. Aerodyne, which employs about 50, will become a subsidiary of Abraxas. But it will continue to operate under the Aerodyne name and be led by Susan and Max Gurgew until they select their successors. Susan Gurgew said she expects the company's local operations to continue to grow, "with no immediate management changes." Aerodyne provides services to public and private industry in aerospace system engineering, testing, aviation safety and flight operations, as well as technical consulting services in manned and unmanned aeronautical programs. The acquisition of Aerodyne bolsters Abraxas' presence in the unmanned aerial vehicle arena, Abraxas founder and CEO Hollis Helms said in a news release. Abraxas has about 335 employees. |
