Company adds local site to boost regional business

Maryland-based Engineering Systems Solutions (ESS) said it will open an office in Huntsville after it was awarded part of a multi-group contract with the Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Expedited Professional & Engineering Support Services (EXPRESS), based at Redstone Arsenal.

ESS was chosen as a subcontractor to work under Madison Research Corp. on the technical domain area of the contract.

Contract through 2009

The federal government contract runs through 2009 with a possibility of renewal.

AMCOM is the U.S. Army organization responsible for life cycle management of Army missile, helicopter, unmanned ground vehicle and unmanned aerial vehicle weapon systems.

"This is a phenomenal opportunity for us,'' said Jay Nathan, founder and CEO of ESS.

"At ESS, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality products with exceptional customer service; and it's this foundation that has enabled the company to be as successful as it is. Working for AMCOM introduces exciting new avenues of growth potential for us.''

10th field office

J. Christopher Kolb will run the Huntsville office, the 10th field office for ESS.

"Chris is a wonderful resource for us to have in Huntsville," Nathan continued.

"Adding someone with his expertise to our team allows us to fully explore other opportunities in the area.

"We will be making a conscious effort to expand our Southeast operations with our new location."

Engineering Systems Solutions is a service-disabled-veteran-owned small business located in Frederick, Md.
