Airport lands first nonstop flight to NYCThursday, July 12, 2007
From staff reports Huntsville Times Delta will launch LaGuardia service in September Delta Air Lines will start weekday nonstop round-trip service between New York's LaGuardia Airport and Huntsville International Airport on Sept. 6. That service boosts the number of nonstop destinations from Huntsville to 13. Flights will leave Huntsville at 6:45 a.m. and arrive in New York at 10:02 a.m. Return service will leave LaGuardia at 9 p.m. and arrive in Huntsville at 10:41 p.m. Monday through Friday. "This new service will be Huntsville's only nonstop flight to the New York area and a much-needed route for our community," said Jeff Sikes, chairman of the Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority. "We are pleased to link our community to one of the nation's premier business and leisure destinations. New York is one of Huntsville International's top 20 markets, so we anticipate this service to be very well received." Delta now offers nonstop flights between Huntsville and Atlanta, Cincinnati, Orlando and Washington, D.C. (Reagan National). | |
