Millennium continues to grow at local officeTuesday, February 27, 2007
From staff reports Huntsville Times Engineering service company expects BRAC additions Millennium Engineering & Integration, an Arlington, Va.-based company that opened a Huntsville office just over a year ago, continues to grow here as a result of defense work moves from the Washington, D.C., area as well as new business. Fifteen months ago, Millennium's Huntsville office had six employees, and 25 to 30 employees are now based here, with the company in the process of interviewing for several positions to be filled immediately, said Larry Foor, the company's vice president of strategies and analysis. The growth of the employee-owned engineering service company is "continuing and it will continue this year also," Foor said. "I hope to have 50 people here by the end of this year." This year is "the first year of official BRAC-related moves," Foor said. The 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission recommended three major Army commands, a majority of the Missile Defense Agency and helicopter work to be moved to Redstone Arsenal. Millennium has about 160 employees companywide who support 37 contracts with the Army Space and Missile Defense Command, the Missile Defense Agency, NASA, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. The growth in Huntsville, Foor said, will be a mix of current employees who are relocated here, new hires from this area and new hires from outside the area for positions the company has created. "We have many families that love the Huntsville environment for raising their children and have been eager to make the move," said Kerry Wisnosky, Millennium's president and chief executive officer. Wisnosky is also one of the company's founding partners. | |
