From staff reports Huntsville Times Joins land-line and Cingular services with free calling AT&T Inc., which acquired BellSouth Corp. and Cingular Wireless last month, said its new AT&T Unity plan is the nation's largest unlimited free calling community. AT&T Unity will allow subscribers to consolidate home, business and wireless calling with free calls among some 100 million AT&T numbers. The plan also includes unlimited night and weekend minutes and a package of Anytime Minutes for wireless customers, the company said in a news release. The Unity plan is AT&T's first converged product offering since its Dec. 29 acquisition of BellSouth and consolidation of Cingular. "AT&T Unity is the ideal way to introduce our customers to the real power of combining wireless and wireline services into an appealing offering that delivers value, flexibility and convenience," said Edward E. Whitcare Jr., chairman and CEO of AT&T. To sign up for Unity, customers must subscribe to the AT&T wireless service and unlimited AT&T local and long-distance land-line services. Customers on the plan will get a single bill for all services. Individual and family plans are available. For more information, visit www.att.com/unity or any Cingular store.
