The acquisition will allow ADS, which develops flow-measurement equipment and software, to add new infrastructure-management services in the Southeast. New services will include GPS (global positioning system) tracking; utility location, mapping, inspection and evaluation; and additional flow-monitoring capabilities. ADS develops and provides technology-based products and services for the water, wastewater and hydroelectric industries through two divisions, ADS Environmental Services and Accusonic Technologies. "I am pleased to be part of ADS and contribute to the expansion and growth of this world-class corporation," Babby Wynne, managing member of DWC Technologies, said in a news release. "With the recent acquisition of Severn Trent Pipeline Services, ADS has emerged as a leading supplier of wastewater services and field personnel available in our industry." "The personnel at DWC Technologies have over 25 years of expertise and are among the best in our business," said Karl Boone, president and chief executive officer of ADS. "We are very pleased to grow and strengthen our field service offerings with their technologies and knowledge." This is the second acquisition ADS has announced this year: In August, the company said it had purchased Severn Trent Pipeline Services, a division of Severn Trent Services of Port Washington, Penn. "Part of our strategy is to acquire more companies," said Cindy O'Gorman, spokeswoman for ADS. She said more acquisitions are expected in the future. ADS has 317 employees in 29 locations throughout the United States, O'Gorman said. Formerly ADS Corp., the company was founded in 1975 by Ralph Petroff, his brothers Alan and Mark, and their father, Peter. The company was purchased by Sweden-based Axel Johnson Group in 1995. Nova Technologies, an investment group, purchased ADS in November 2005 and maintains the company's headquarters in Huntsville. | |
