Whitney, Bradley & Brown, a technical and management consulting company based in Vienna, Va., has opened an office in Huntsville.

The local office will have two employees initially, said Kevin Moore, the company's president and CEO. The company has used a business model for the last five or six years in which an office opens with two workers then grows to 15 to 20, Moore said. "In Huntsville, we expect to have even stronger growth than other offices," he said.

The company held a ribbon-cutting celebration on Wednesday afternoon at its offices in the AmSouth building downtown.

"We are excited to establish an office in Huntsville and look forward to being part of a world-class community serving the warfighter and other elements of the federal government," Moore said. The new office will facilitate the company's support of the Army and other government programs in Alabama.

Other Whitney, Bradley clients include NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

"We may benefit in the long run" from the Pentagon's Base Realignment and Closure Commission plan to relocate defense workers from the Washington, D.C., area to Redstone Arsenal, Moore said. "But that's not the reason for establishing an office here."

Carol Frazier is the company's Huntsville manager.

Whitney, Bradley has about 230 employees companywide and offices in Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach, Va.; Dayton, Ohio; Patuxent River, Md.; and San Diego.
