The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce on Monday kicked off its total resources campaign, a once-a-year approach to selling sponsorships to member companies. The chamber uses the money raised during the campaign to enhance economic development efforts and contribute to marketing the community. During this year's nine-week effort, 16 teams of volunteers, under the leadership of four vice-chairs, will try to reach a goal of $600,000 by June 30. Scott Seeley, city president of Regions Bank Huntsville, is campaign chairman. "The campaign is a great way for volunteers to meet our area's top community leaders and business owners while working directly with many of the chamber's most dedicated leadership," Seeley said. "Participating in this campaign allowed me develop stronger relationships with the companies I was helping," said Carrie McCrillis, city group manager for Kelly Services and top producer for last year's campaign. "While I enjoyed working with the other volunteers, I also felt that I was able to educate the companies I worked with about the opportunities to promote their companies by using the chamber's resources." © 2006 The Huntsville Times |
