Huntsville-based Gray Research Inc. has signed a contract worth approximately $72 million for work with the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command at Redstone Arsenal.
It's the largest contract award in the company's history. The contract is for the operation and management of the Missile Defense Data Center (MDDC) in Huntsville for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The total potential value of the contract is approximately $72M over a five-year period, according to the company.
Major subcontractors on the Gray Research team include SAIC, Digital Fusion, Inc., and CSC.
"Gray Research is confident and excited as we lead this exceptional team to support the missile defense community and continue the development and evolution of the MDDC into the premier data center in the country," said Ronald W. Gray, president.
The MDDC supports the MDA in developing and fielding an integrated Ballistic Missile Defense System by managing past, present, and future missile defense-related data products; facilitating access to those data products; and producing new data products to support MDA technology development, testing, and evaluation.
Gray Research, founded in 1998, provides technical and programmatic assistance and solutions to government and commercial customers throughout the U.S.
Gray Research currently employs over 110 people in Huntsville, Colorado Springs, Colo, and Tucson, Ariz.
