Happy Holidays,
As a previous volunteer to HandsOn Greater Huntsville, formerly
The Volunteer Center of Madison County, we would like to take this
opportunity to thank you for your continued interest in volunteerism
and request your year end financial support to continue recruiting and
mobilizing volunteers in our community. HandsOn offers a
consistent and critical service to local non-profit agencies by
providing volunteers, which increases the agencies' effectiveness and
reduces their costs.
Unfortunately, HandsOn Greater Huntsville is facing a
serious financial crisis brought on by the current recession and loss
of critical funding, and we need your help now. With the holiday
season rapidly approaching, numerous non-profit agencies depend on
HandsOn to provide the manpower for the many donation drives and other
special events across the Greater Huntsville area. HandsOn has
already adjusted the annual budget to accommodate these funding cuts,
and while we acknowledge that many of our former contributors are also
facing financial difficulties, we would greatly appreciate any
financial assistance you can give to help HandsOn provide these
critical services this holiday season.
We recently published our 2010 Helping Hands Book, which
features our non-profit partners and their needs for volunteers and
materials. Without this publication, many of our smaller
non-profit partners would not receive the recognition they need to
continue providing their valuable services to the community. For
