Special forum on how location-based information can be used to track cyber-threats
will be presented at local conference
November 7, 2011 – Huntsville, AL – Cybersecurity
threats originate
somewhere and this year’s Rocket City Geospatial Conference will convene
a plenary session on how location technology will be used to identify and
map attacks. The City of Huntsville’s cybersecurity
initiative,
CyberHuntsville, offers a model through which to
examine this important
topic. Session speakers include SAIC’s Ben McGhee, president of the North
Alabama Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA);
Russ Holder from Intergraph Government Systems; and Tim Lorello
of
TeleCommunications Systems Inc. The discussion will
be moderated by
conference chairman, Joe Francica, from Directions
Media. This session will
be held on November 16 at 11:40 a.m. in the auditorium of the Davidson
Center for Space Exploration at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in
Huntsville.
The conference will also host the Alabama Geographic Information Systems
(GIS) conference. It will attract local and state government professionals
and businesses that utilize digital mapping technology and GIS for
applications such as environmental protection, economic development, urban
planning and critical infrastructure management.
The conference will be held November 15 and 16, 2011 in the Davidson Center
for Space Exploration at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville,
Alabama. This conference will feature an array of user case studies,
technical sessions and vendor presentations through a series of organized
tracks.
