U.S. ARMY EXTENDING $150 MILLION SICPS CONTRACT

Inside a SICPS/TMSS Medium Command Post. ORANGEBURG, NY – Military contractors DHS Technologies LLC and Northrop Grumman Corporation have been awarded a contract by the U.S. Army to provide nearly 350 high mobility tactical operations centers that can be rapidly deployed for command, control and communications on the battlefield.

The contract, worth approximately $35 million, is an extension of the Army’s $150 million Standardized Integrated Command Post Systems (SICPS) Family of Trailer Mounted Support Systems (TMSS) contract that was initially awarded to the companies in 2008. Under the agreement, Northrop Grumman and DHS Technologies’ subsidiary DHS Systems LLC have already provided more than 1,300 command post suites of shelters and trailers, complete with climate control and power for lighting, computers and other equipment, for use by Army combat brigades from across the country.

Each SICPS/TMSS suite is comprised of one of DHS Systems’ Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelters (DRASH) and accompanying utility support trailers. The suites are completed with a command post platform produced by Northrop Grumman.

As part of the Army’s recent request for additional SICPS/TMSS systems, DHS and Northrop Grumman will be providing 349 SICPS/TMSS Medium command posts. The systems, which have been designed to tow behind Heavy HMMWV vehicles, provide 442 square feet of usable space, include a 5-ton environmental control unit and allow for the use of up to 18kW of power.

Expected to be delivered from July 2010 to August 2011, the systems will be fielded to units through Redstone Arsenal in Alabama.

DHS Technologies has provided military forces from around the world with quick erect/strike DRASH shelters and trailers for more than 25 years. Currently, more than 17,000 DRASH shelters are in use with U.S. Military and NATO forces across the globe.

Northrop Grumman Corporation is a leading global security company whose 120,000 employees provide innovative systems, products, and solutions in aerospace, electronics, information systems, shipbuilding and technical services to government and commercial customers worldwide
