2014 Ambassador Program

What is an Ambassador:

Chamber Ambassadors are individuals who help represent and promote the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County, as well as promote their own business to other companies. The Ambassador Program consists of enthusiastic volunteers from the Chamber membership who donate their time to help build member commitment and raise community awareness of Chamber activities and benefits.

What are the benefits:

The Ambassadors grow professionally and personally by building business relationships within the community. Getting involved with the Ambassador Program is one of the first steps you can take to become more involved with the Chamber. The program is ideal if you have a desire to become more active in the local business environment, raise awareness of your business or organization and give back to your community.

The Ambassador Program provides opportunities for you to connect with local business leaders and build lasting relationships. You will have an insider’s perspective of the local business community and a high level of prestige and credibility is extended to your business or occupation through your involvement with this well-respected goodwill group.

Ambassadors may attend (at no charge) “Business After Hours” in 2014. Registration is required.

Ambassador monthly luncheons include Chamber volunteer-only seminars for professional development and growth, group discussions on how to improve the programs for the benefit of the volunteers, and/or networking opportunities.

Ambassadors are encouraged to attend all ribbon cutting events* to help our New & Existing Members in their celebrations and help create a cohesive membership through relationship building.

* When attending any ceremony, use your ribbon cutting etiquette! Please remember: you are a guest of the Chamber and will be representing the Chamber as an Ambassador. When introducing yourself to the hosts, do not ask them to do business with you. This is a chance to start and build a new relationship – not to ask for business. Feel free to leave your business card so the member knows that you attended and becomes aware of your company.

Ambassadors have other opportunities to develop lasting business partnerships with your fellow Chamber volunteers by attending our newly created, morning or night, AE Connection – Get Connected & Create Business Partnerships (Ambassador and Emissary Connection mix and mingle) held at local Chamber member locations – approximately every month.

Ambassadors will be invited to join the AE Connection Group on LinkedIn®. This is a private group for our AEs (all Chamber volunteers) to help you reach out to your fellow AEs for business connections, promote business specials or bring awareness to a non-profit in which you support.

Ambassadors’ contact and business information (including business email) will be forwarded to all Chamber volunteers for a quick reference reminder to do business first with your fellow Chamber volunteer through our AE Connection - BIZ 1st! listing.

Ambassadors’ marketing material will be inserted in our new AE Connection – New Chamber Member Gift Bags. Suitable items for this might be a company brochure, business card, note pad, pen, thumb drive or any professional marketing gift that you want to display your business name on. These bags will be given to all new Chamber members. This is your first connection to make a business partnership with our new members. Make it a lasting first impression!

Ambassadors’ photo, name, company name and business email will be displayed on the Chamber’s website under the special Ambassador page.

What are the requirements and fees:

Ambassadors must be employed by or own a business that has a Chamber business membership in good standing.
Ambassadors must fill out and submit an application with payment every year to continue with the program.
Ambassador Membership dues, payments and all other fees due the Chamber must be paid on time to remain in the program.
If applicable, Ambassadors must have their employer’s approval to participate in the program.

The Ambassador fee for 2014 is $120 for the full year running January 1 through December 31 or $80 for the half year running July 1 through December 31. Ambassador fees are non-refundable.

Ambassador name badges should be ordered after your acceptance into the program and after you have submitted your application with the fee payment. All Ambassadors are responsible for ordering and paying for their Ambassador badge. The usually cost is approximately $15. (see badge ordering information below)

What are the restrictions:

You cannot solicit for any political issue or person at the Chamber or any Chamber events.

The Chamber reserves the right to remove any Chamber volunteer from any Chamber volunteer program.

How do you order your Ambassador Name Badge?

Contact fellow Ambassador Tina Blankenship with Allegra Marketing, Print & Mail by calling 256-351-9525 or by sending an email to tina@allegraalabama.com.
