The Chamber’s Workforce & Industry Relations program supports the full spectrum of workforce development, from pre-K to employment, to provide local employers with the talent they need to be successful. Program areas include Education, Career Readiness, Recruitment and Retention.
Education – The Chamber partners with Huntsville City, Madison City and Madison County public schools to ensure student achievement across all populations. Special emphasis is placed on science, technology, engineering and math initiatives to support our high-tech economy. We support our public and private schools through professional development and advocacy at the state and local levels.

Career Readiness – The Chamber promotes career awareness to students of all ages to align the skills of the next generation of workers with the projected job requirements. Our “Smart Careers” profile helps inform students of the education requirements and salary potential of the high-demand careers in the region, and we work with secondary and post-secondary education systems to communicate industry needs.
Recruitment – ASmartPlace.com is a free, one-stop portal for job seekers and employers across the Tennessee Valley region. The site pulls job openings directly from the websites of hundreds of employers, and Chamber members can post job openings directly to the site. Job seekers can upload resumes, save search criteria and set up email alerts to simplify their job search. The Chamber also has materials to support workforce recruitment of our members.
Retention – The Chamber’s Industry Relations program focuses on meeting with member companies to identify and address their needs. From workforce to infrastructure, our priority is to ensure that our existing companies have the resources they need to be successful in Huntsville/Madison County.
