Nexolve recently cut the ribbon for its new facility in Cummings Research Park. Nexolve, formerly ManTech SRS, is a space and defense contractor with major clients in missile defense and space-related technology. The company supports the James Webb Space Telescope, the successor of Hubble, as a subcontractor for Northrop Grumman.

According to Nexolve president and general manager Joe Bergantz, the move to the new facility will make the company more efficient because of its proximity to high bays that the company already owned and more office and lab space.

“Our name may have changed from ManTech SRS to Nexolve, but the people haven’t changed,” Bergantz said. “We are still going to provide high quality service and we look forward to growing in this community with our neighbors in Research Park.”

ManTech International CEO George Pedersen flew in from corporate headquaters to attend the event. In February 2008, Pedersen received a Federal 100 Award from Federal Computer Week. He was chosen for having a significant influence on how the "federal government buys, uses and manages information technology," and "for a risk-taking, vision and pioneering spirit in the federal IT community." Pedersen said how amazed he was with Huntsville’s growth.

“What I observed here in Huntsville is just incredible. I have never seen a community grow like this,” Pedersen said. “I live in northern Virginia, and I wish they had the foresight you have had to grow. You have to be proud of what you have.”

ManTech International’s Defense Systems Group, for which Nexolve is part of, was represented by the group’s president Dave Bryan at the ceremony. Bryan welcomed Nexolve to the group.

“I can’t tell you how proud we are to have Nexolve in the defense group. Today is the beginning of a new chapter in the company’s history,” Bryan said.

Irma Tuder, Chair of the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County Board of Directors, congratulated the company on behalf of the Chamber.

“Congratulations to all of you and to the employees of NeXolve. Today is a proud day not only for everyone at NeXolve and ManTech, but also for our entire community. On behalf of the Chamber I pledge to you that we will do everything we can to help you continue to grow your business in this community and expand your client base,” Tuder said.

Brenda Martin, City Office of Multicultural Affairs, spoke on behalf of Mayor Tommy Battle who was in D.C.

“I want to congratulate you on your new building and growth. Because of you, we are the type of city that we are,” Martin said.
