Drake State Announces Double Digit Enrollment Increase

J.F. Drake State Technical College recently announced a 28 percent enrollment increase for the spring 2009 semester. The enrollment number also represents an increase over the fall 2008 semester that had been the largest enrollment in the college’s history.

“The Drake family continues to be excited with the increased numbers of individuals choosing our college for postsecondary education to include Adult Education, Ready-to Work Training and our diploma, certificate and degree programs. These students represent individuals that are receiving a quality education and that will provide additional skilled workers for the Huntsville/Madison County workforce needs,” said Dr. Helen McAlpine, President of J.F. Drake State Technical College.

“We continue to work closely with state officials and area chambers of commerce to identify high-demand categories of workers. Many of our training programs are consistent with the needs associated with BRAC [Base Realignment and Closure Activity] as well as other business and industry entities throughout the Tennessee Valley.”
