Renowned Science, Technology Firm Invests in Huntsville; Opens Office
“Investing in Huntsville is a key part of our strategic plan,” said Chieh-san Cheng, president of Global Science & Technology, Inc. “We are strongly committed to partnering with the Huntsville business and government community by applying our well-known technical services and capabilities.” Chamber Board Chair Evans Quinlivan gave a glowing review of the company at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “GST prides itself on developing successful partnerships in all of its locations and has a proven track record in partnering for success, making the company a natural addition to a community that prides itself on business and community partnerships,” he said. Since it was founded in 1991, the company has worked closely with many Government and commercial organizations, including the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Justice, NASA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the state of West Virginia. The company’s focus is on applying its expertise in science and IT to enable customers to create, archive, share, and distribute mission critical data in a more efficient manner to support decision making and operations. As an example, the company is a prime contractor for NOAA’s Comprehensive Large Array Stewardship System (CLASS), the world’s largest weather-data archive. In addition, the company supports scientific visualization as well as sensor development, testing, and characterization. For DoD, the company provides enhancements to advanced tactical communications equipment for the Army warfighter in Iraq in both land and space networks. In Huntsville, besides NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, Global Science & Technology will focus its efforts on U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command Expedited Professional and Engineering Support Services (AMCOM EXPRESS), which provides the full gamut of advisory and assistance services for Team Redstone. Global Science & Technology is a subcontractor on AMCOM EXPRESS to Westar, VT Aepco Inc., SAIC, and the Madison Research Corp. The Global Science & Technology’s Huntsville initiative is being lead by Joni Green, who is assisting the company with business development and outreach activities. Green is a certified Program Management Professional (PMP) with more than 17 years of leadership and management experience. “I’m excited to represent Global Science & Technology here in Huntsville,” said Green. “As its consultant, I plan to forge new business, government, and community partnerships in order to support Team Redstone and NASA Marshall Space Flight Center’s missions.” Global Science & Technology’s office is located at 600 Boulevard South, Huntsville. |
