Turner Universal Gives Opportunity for Full-Ride
to Construction Camp

Turner Universal, the nation’s leading general builder, announces an essay contest that will provide one student enrolled in grades 9-12 with a full sponsorship to Auburn University’s Building Construction Camp.

The Building Construction camp allows students to learn construction basics and how to integrate building design with site, climate, function, and green considerations. There will be many hands-on projects supervised by Building Science faculty in the College of Architecture. This camp is an excellent starting point for teens considering a career in architecture or building science.

The best and most creative essayist will win the opportunity to learn the process of how a building is transformed from a concept to a reality. The winner will stay in a residence hall at Auburn University with the other 24 attendees and participate in social and recreational activities after architecture/building workshops.

The essay topic is: “If I could build the world’s greatest building…”

The camp takes place June 15-20, 2008. To register for the camp, visit www.auburn.edu/outreach/construction.com. Email your essay for the sponsorship to cmcmahill@tcco.com. The deadline for essay entries is May 16, 2008.
