JA-in-a-Day Needs Volunteers

Junior Achievement of Northern Alabama is recruiting volunteers who would like to participate in a JA-in-a-Day event.

Junior Achievement (JA) is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

For JA-in-a-Day, volunteers are matched with one classroom for one entire school day, 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. JA elementary programs contain five sessions. By the end of the school day, the students will have completed the JA program for their grade.

Volunteer requirements include: attend training session – or – complete online training, sign registration paperwork before classroom visit, prepare for presentation, conduct all the sessions of the JA program.

The schools we are serving in May are:
Harvest Elementary on May 2nd – grades 2, 3, and 4 need volunteers
Rainbow Elementary on May 7th – grades 3 through 6 need volunteers
Endeavor Elementary on May 9th – grades K through 5 need volunteers

The deadline to register for one of these schools is April 25th, 2008. Please contact the Junior Achievement of Northern Alabama office at 533-4661 or by email at kciliax@janaonline.org
