The Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County is an organization of businesses, professionals and local leaders working to ensure a secure and sustainable economic future for our community. The Chamber’s vision is to provide for an enhanced quality of life for all citizens in our region, and our mission is to prepare, develop, and promote the community for economic growth. Meeting our goals and objectives is made possible through the dedicated efforts of Chamber volunteers, community leaders, and a talented Chamber staff focused on advancing the economic development growth of our community.

Every aspect of the Chamber’s work supports the primary objective of the organization – growing and improving our local economy. The various components of the Chamber programs seamlessly benefit our over 2,300 members and investment partners. The Chamber of Commerce will pursue business growth, promote the economic advantages of our area, protect our military and space programs, and enhance the values of membership in the organization.

1. Pursue Business Growth
   We will aggressively market Huntsville/Madison County to key businesses and facility consultants. Consistent with the Chamber’s traditional economic development programs, support of existing industry and recruitment of new businesses will be strong areas of emphasis. With the support of our research and presentation capabilities we will respond to business prospect inquiries, manage expansion/ relocation projects, and with available resources we will develop efforts to generate new economic opportunities. We will respond to the needs of companies requiring new facilities, infrastructure assistance, incentives, employee recruitment and retention, industry education and training, and small business services and other special assistance.
   
   
2. Promote Economic Advantages
   We will target domestic and foreign business executives with information in order to broaden awareness of the economic advantages of the Huntsville/Madison County area. We will work to enhance relationships within industries that will complement our business base. The Chamber’s electronic information will be utilized to promote our positive community image and disseminate effective information.
   
   
3. Protect Federal Programs
   The Chamber will develop and implement a plan to proactively protect the space and defense programs affecting the Huntsville/Madison County region. A team approach will be used to gather information, assess opportunities, and execute a plan to defend existing local programs against challenges during the new Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process. Additionally, we will work to strengthen the Huntsville/Madison County region as an essential component of military and space program development.
   
   
4. Enhance Membership Activities
   The Chamber will deliver value to its members. We will work to enhance networking programs and business referrals in order to promote member companies and stimulate local economic activity. We will work to grow our strong membership base through attention and sales efforts. We will inform members on key issues impacting their companies and our community’s economic condition.
   
   With results-oriented programs focusing on these four objectives, the Chamber of Commerce will continue to coordinate and influence the most important economic development needs and opportunities for the Huntsville/Madison County region.
