Calhoun Awarded $5,000 Grant from TVA Corporate Contributions for 5th Consecutive Year

Calhoun Community College has been awarded a $5000 grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority's (TVA) Corporation Contributions. The grant will be used to enhance the college's Industrial Maintenance program lab. According to Calhoun Grants Coordinator Debi Garrison, the college has received funding from TVA's Corporate Contributions program each year since 2005. "We are extremely appreciative of this donation from TVA, which will allow students graduating from Calhoun's Industrial Maintenance program to be more competitive in the job market," said Garrison. The typical base salary range for an Industrial Maintenance technician is $31,200 - $54,000; base salary does not include overtime or benefits. "TVA has been a long-time supporter and corporate partner of Calhoun, and we thank them for their contributions not just to Calhoun but to the entire Tennessee Valley region," commented Calhoun President Marilyn Beck.
