The Food Bank of North Alabama is in need of several adult
volunteers to assist with surveying people who are getting food from
local church pantries, soup kitchens, etc.
Groups of volunteers are needed
during the day on weekdays to go to facilities giving out food and
interview the recipients. Training is provided in advance, and
volunteers will be provided with a list of questions to ask.
This is part of Feeding
America's 2009 Hunger Study and will help determine the needs in our
community and evaluate ways to better serve those in need. If you would
like more information or if you can help, please contact Heather at HandsOn Greater Huntsville at 539-7797 or heather@volunteerhsv.org. Volunteers can help once or multiple times.
Volunteers who transport themselves will receive mileage reimbursement and meals. Volunteers who travel with Food Bank staff will receive meals.
