MTS Announces New Project Management Courses for 2009

MTS, a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) as certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI ®), is pleased to announce that a new professional development opportunity for project managers has been added to the 2009 course schedule. Courses are taught at the MTS Conference Center in Perimeter Park.

The three half-day courses begin in February. Project Management in a Government Environment is an introductory course and provides a basic understanding of project management in both the government and commercial arenas. Project Life Cycles and Organizational Influences, the relationships between projects, subprojects and life cycles are explained. The new course, Project Management Processes, uses several case studies to examine the five PMI® process groups: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. Diverse industry experience of the instructors allows them to effectively demonstrate how DoD and NASA projects align with these process groups. Professional Development Units (PDUs) are offered for each completed course.
