Intergraph Supports Huntsville Police Fallen Officers’ Memorial Monument to honor local officers who have given their lives to protect the community Intergraph President and CEO R. Halsey Wise recently presented a $15,000 donation to the Huntsville Police Citizens Foundation that will be used to fund the Fallen Officers’ Memorial in honor of local officers who have given their lives in the service to the Huntsville community. Nine Huntsville police officers have died in the line of duty since 1883 and two officers, Daniel Golden and Eric Freeman, have given their lives since 2005. The Fallen Officers’ Memorial will be constructed in front of the city’s Department of Public Safety complex. The memorial, which is being managed by the Huntsville Police Memorial Committee, will consist of a statue and benches surrounded by engraved light bollards, placards and brick pavers. Individual donors have the opportunity to personalize the light bollards, placards and pavers. “As a company with deep roots and a rich history in Huntsville, Intergraph is the first local business to contribute at such a significant level to the memorial to honor our fallen comrades,” said Huntsville Police Citizens Foundation Chairman Mike Fees. “We are thankful for this generous donation to help make the memorial a reality.” “Each and every day, the men and women of the Huntsville Police Department put their lives on the line to ensure that our community remains a safe and peaceful place to live and work,” Wise said. “Intergraph is grateful to these individuals for their role in protecting and serving Huntsville and to the officers who paid the ultimate price. We are honored to be a part of this community and to contribute toward preserving the memory of these heroes through the Fallen Officers’ Memorial.” “We hope that other businesses in the area join Intergraph by allocating funds in support of the Fallen Officers’ Memorial,” said Mayor Loretta Spencer. “Knowing the respect of the Huntsville business community, I am confident that Intergraph will soon be joined by other contributors to support this worthy cause and addition to Huntsville.” Public Safety Director Rex Reynolds said, “On behalf of the men and women of the Huntsville Police Department, we are proud of our long term partnership with Intergraph, and very thankful for their contribution to this worthy endeavor. Today's donation will go a long way in helping us reach our goal of raising $500,000.” Intergraph, founded in 1969, is a global provider of spatial information management software.
