AUVSI Awards Funds to Calhoun to Support Robotics Scholarship

The Huntsville Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International AUVSI Pathfinder Chapter (www.auvsipathfinder.com) recently presented a gift of $17,000 to Calhoun Community College to support a scholarship for a student pursuing a career in the field of robotics. According to Calhoun President Marilyn Beck, a portion of the gift also has been designated for the purchase of robotics equipment and to start a robotics club at the college.

The AUVSI is the world's largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to advancing the unmanned systems community. AUVSI has over 1,400 member companies and organizations from 50 countries.

AUVSI's mission is to promote and support public awareness of unmanned systems technology through communication, education and leadership. AUVSI's information forums provide a vehicle for information exchange, networking and business development.
