Nomination Deadline: January 25, 2008

Event Date: April 22, 2008 at The Westin Hotel

Step 1: Nominate
If you have more than 25 employees in the Huntsville/Madison Country metropolitan area, nominate your company or organization (including non-profit) by filling out the form. Email the completed PDF to JJeffers@hsvchamber.org or fax to Jenni Jeffers, Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County. (Fax number is 535-2015)
Step 2: Register
Once nominated, you will receive an e-mail from Quantum Market Research that contains the rules of the competition and a link to the online registration page. After answering a few questions on the registration page, you will be given an organization code and directed to the survey website. Here, you will be asked to create a username and password. This will allow you to track your organization's response rate as the survey progresses.

Step 3: Consider survey customizations
BPTW participants who would benefit from customizing their employee survey can do so for a fee. Customizations include:
  • adding questions unique to your company or organization
  • adding custom demographics to enhance your slicing functions, (i.e. by department or location)
  • surveying employees outside your contest area
Step 4: Take the survey
Once you have your organization code, distribute it to your employees along with a link to the survey website, so that they may complete the survey online. The survey contains approximately 40 likert-scale questions and one open-ended question, and takes just 6-8 minutes to complete. In addition to monitoring your organization's responses, Quantum will send updates twice a week.

If your employees do not have internet access, contact Quantum for English and Spanish PDFs of the survey questionnaire. Print and distribute these surveys to non-internet employees, then assign a key employee to collect the completed surveys and manually enter them into the survey website.

TIP: Be sure to have the data entry person close out of the browser entirely after entering a survey — then re-open a new browser.

Step 5: What next after the survey closes

Quantum will process the data and provide the Business Journal with the scores of all participating organizations. The Business Journal names finalists in each size tier.

Your organization's score will be compared to all organizations in your size-category and region.

All questions on the survey are evenly weighted using a 6-point likert-scale. (1=strongly disagree, 6=strongly agree) The open-ended question is not scored.

Upon the close of the data collection period, you will receive an email from Quantum that links you to a free category overview of your results. The same e-mail will link you to a web demo of the advanced reporting available for purchase.

Key Information:

  • There are no fees to apply and participate in this award unless you make request beyond the normal process.

  • Be assured that customizations do not affect the way your results are scored for the purposes of the contest. Custom questions and non-market employees are excluded from the computations. Call Greg Harris at Quantum for more information at 402-955-1789.

  • Winners will be announced at the April 22 event.
